In the Spotlight

The Friends of the Plover River Turtles is a multi-year partnership between the WisDOT and the DNR, along with UWSP for an ongoing study the mitigation patterns of turtle across State Highway 66 (SH66) in Portage County's Jordan Park.  Turtles and other wildlife have to cross SH66 due to the road separating wetland habitat and nesting grounds.  A wildlife underpass has been installed to determine if the alternate route will reduce turtle/vehicle mortalities.  A Facebook page has set up if you would like to view the team's wildlife sightings and read about their results.
