Unless noted otherwise, the following take place at Lincoln Center, 1519 Water Street.

Lincoln Center, Aging & Disability Resource Center offices, the Adult Day Center and the Holly Shoppe will be closed Monday for Labor Day. There will be no meal service at the Nutrition Program dining sites.

If you have unwanted prescription or over-the-counter medicines don't put them in the trash or down the toilet! This can lead to groundwater contamination or drugs falling into the wrong hands. There's a drop box at the Stevens Point Police Department open to the public 24 hours a day, every day for unused medications. Go down the ramp at the Courthouse and through the west door at the bottom of the ramp. The box is in the waiting area of the dispatch office. There's also a drop-off box at the Plover Police Department (Plover Municipal Building) available Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a collection held at the Junction City Park Pavilion on Thursday, September 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In "Buying a Digital Camera" on Thursday at 6 p.m., Barbara Smith of B. F. Smith Images will discuss getting the best camera for your needs and budget. Topics include advantages and disadvantages of camera types, choosing camera features and menu functions, how many megapixels you really need, and how and where to buy.

Lincoln Center's play reading group will meet Friday at 10:30 a.m. Seniors are invited to join for the enjoyment of reading one-act plays. Isabelle Stelmahoske and Alice Faust are the coordinators.

Register now for the new season of Senior Center classes and activities. Full details are in the "Autumn Offerings" catalogue which was in the August 21 issue of the Stevens Point Buyers' Guide, also online at the ADRC Website (click on the Senior Center Activities link).
