Letters to Elected Officials
Elected officials represent us, so we need to let them know our concerns and how we feel on issues. Elected officials want and like to receive letters from their constituents because they may help:
| provide different perspectives on issues | |
| provide technical or scientific information to support an issue | |
| point out weaknesses in a proposed bill | |
| clarify what you and possibly your community feel is important, right, just, etc. | |
| persuade them to vote for or against specific legislation |
