Adult Day Center - Dementia Care Services - Volunteer Caregiver Program

The Aging & Disability Resource Center offers a variety of services for people who provide care to a family member or other loved one.

Caregiver Education and Training

Caregiver support Information and assistance to meet needs and to access publicly-funded programs:
Respite care 
Supportive services (e.g., in-home assistance, transportation, etc.) 
Resource library 
Loan closet                                                                                                                      

Dementia Care Services

Training Opportunities

Taking Care of You: Powerful Tools for Caregiving Identifying
  and reducing stress 
Communicating feelings, needs and concerns 
Learning from our emotions 
Mastering caregiving decisions 
In-home training or assistance to find it 
Training on such topics as infection control, difficult behaviors,
  aphasia, etc. 

Adult Day Center

Respite Care

Requests for daytime respite may be accommodated by the Adult Day Center or by reimbursement to an in-home provider. Overnight respite is generally available at assisted living facilities or nursing homes. Reimbursement of an in-home provider is also possible. 

Resource Library

Our "Knowledge Nook" has video tapes, books, brochures, Internet access and other material.
