2017 State Construction Project Status Update
(Project Dates Subject to Change)

Project: STH 49 Crack Sealing (STH 66 to Marathon County Line)

Project Length: 3.81 miles

Project Description: Existing cracks will be routed and sealed with hot rubber sealant. A single lane closure will be in place during working hours using a flagger operation.

Estimated Construction Date: May 2017

 

Project: STH 49 Chipseal (STH 66 to Marathon County Line)

Project Length: 3.81 miles

Project Description: Chipseal will be completed one lane at a time with STH 49 being closed to thru traffic during the process. Only residents and businesses with direct access to STH 49 will be allowed to travel STH 49 during this timeframe. A detour will be in place at the time of the project.

Northbound: CR I north to CR C in Marathon County then east to STH 49 in Galloway.

Southbound: West onto CR C in Galloway to CR I then south to STH 66.

The detour will be in place for 2 days with the road reopening with temporary raised pavement markings and a 35 mph advisory speed limit for a 7-10 period. At that time the surface will be fog sealed, the temporary pavement markings removed and permanent pavement markings will be installed. This process will use single lane closure using a flagger operation. Expect delays during this project.

Project: STH 66 Crack Sealing (West end of Rosholt Village Limits to CR J South)

Project Length:  8.5 miles

Project Description: This will be a WisDOT Performance Based Maintenance project .  Existing cracks will be routed and sealed with hot rubber sealant. A single lane closure will be in place during working hours using a flagger operation.

Estimated Construction Date: Fall 2017

 

Project: STH 161 Chipseal (CR Q to USH 10)

Project Length: 3.33 miles

Project Description: Chipseal will be completed one lane at a time with STH 161 being closed to thru traffic during the process. Only residents and businesses with direct access to STH 161 will be allowed to travel STH 161 during this timeframe. A detour will be in place at the time of the project.

Eastbound: USH 10EB to Lake Dr-Turn left on Lake Dr then Right on CR KK then left on CR Q to STH 161

Eastbound: USH 10WB to CR A-Turn right on CR A then turn left onto CR KK then Right onto CR Q to STH 161.

Westbound: Turn left on to CR Q then turn right onto CR KK to USH 10 WB only.

Project: PBM Bridge Washing and Sealing

Project Description: Steel girder and concrete bridge decks will be pressure washed to remove salt residue. All cracks will be sealed with epoxy followed by a concrete sealant. Bridges included in this project include I39 from Second Street overhead south to the Waushara County line both northbound and southbound. Other bridges include USH 10 over CR B eastbound and westbound and STH 66 Plover River at Jordan Dam both eastbound and westbound.  This process will use single lane closures.

Estimated Construction Date: July 5-September 1

 

Project: Timber Abutment Repair (I39 from CR W to CR D)

Project Description: This project consists of installing new concrete abutments in front of existing timber. The majority of work will take place under bridge deck; however there will be short shoulder and or lane closures for concrete pumper truck activity.

Estimated Construction Date: Fall 2017

 

 

ProjectConcrete Pavement Repairs

Project DescriptionDistressed concrete in various locations will be removed and replaced with concrete. Currently, the areas are I39 SB at the Marathon County Line, USH 10 From STH 161 to Lake Dr both eastbound and westbound, STH 54 at Coolidge Ave EB. Areas include both driving and passing lanes. Traffic will be closed to one lane for 1 week at a time in these areas during construction with a reduced speed while workers are present.

Estimated Construction Date:  July-August

 

Project: Polymer Overlay(USH 10 over STH 34N)

Project Description: Bridge deck overlay consists of shot blasting the concrete deck, applying epoxy, covering with aggregate, repeat with epoxy and aggregate. This is a WisDOT Performance Based Maintenance Project project. Traffic will be reduced to one lane with speed reduction in both eastbound and westbound directions. The driving lane in each direction will be finished before switching to the passing lane.

Estimated Construction Date:  July-August
