Purpose 

  • To set policy and provide guidance and legislative oversight for all areas related to protection of person’s property, public safety, emergency planning, and law enforcement.
  • To provide guidance and legislative oversight for the activities of the Portage County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner's Office.
  • To set policy, provide guidance, and legislative oversight for the Emergency Management Department and assure compliance with Emergency Management programs as provided by Chapter 323, Wisconsin State Statutes.

 

Meeting Dates/Times 

This committee usually meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. in the Law Enforcement Center Training Room, 1500 Strongs Avenue, Stevens Point, Wisconsin.   Meetings are open to the public and citizens are encouraged to attend.
