| ABOUT THE AREA |
|
| Lake Emily Park, located just west of Amherst Junction, Wisconsin is
just one of 24 areas managed by the Portage County Parks Department.
This 143 acre park is adjacent to the 96 acre Lake Emily which provides
easy access for fishermen, boaters, water skiers and swimmers.
There’s a large picnic area, two picnic lodges, showers, boat ramp,
trailer dump station, playground equipment, nature trail, swimming
beach, and baseball field. |

| CAMPING INFORMATION
|
|
| The campground is open from May 1 to
October 31.
The north campground has 51 sites and the new south campground has 15 sites.
All sites except the tent sites are provided with electrical hookups.
Approximately half the sites are reservable. |

| The sites can be reserved by contacting the Parks Office.
Reservations are made at the
Portage County Parks office, either in person, through the mail or at the internet address www.co.portage.wi.us with Master Card or VISA and must be
made at least 7 days in advance of when a site is to be occupied.
The campground also has two handicapped sites that can be reserved.

| CAMPING RULES |
|
|
No camping party or camping unit shall occupy any campground more than
14 consecutive days. Exceptions
may be authorized by the park manager.
Once the campsite is set up, registered and paid for, it does not need
to be occupied for the first 48 hours. After that, the campsite must be occupied every 24 hours.
Camping permits expire at 3:00 P.M.
Extensions must be made prior to 10:00 A.M.
Violation of any state law or any rules of the Portage County Park
Commission by a member of a camping party is cause for revocation of the
camping permit.
Juveniles (under 18 years) cannot register for a campsite and must have
adult supervision at the campsite.
