Wolf
Lake is a 36 acre soft-water
seepage lake with an estimated volume
of 366 acre-feet, located in the Township of Almond, five miles
northeast of the Village of Almond. It has a maximum depth of 18
feet and a marl and sand bottom. The lake’s 1.6 mile shoreline is
completely undeveloped , although development plans have been
proposed in
recent years. A
County park on the east side of the lake has a sand
beach, picnic area, and boat launch. Large scale fluctuations in the
water level have resulted in numerous fish winterkills in the past
which were followed up with fishery restocking. The sport fish
population is presently dominated by bluegill, bluegill and
pumpkinseed hybrids, and largemouth bass.
