Salary:$16.50 Per Hour
Description of Duties: This position provides Emergency Management System (EMS) response to medical emergencies at Special Events throughout Portage County.
This position will operate under the operational plan and license of the Portage County Ambulance Service/Stevens Point Fire Dept.
Oversight of this position will be the EMS Medical Director, Saint Michael’s Hospital, the Assistant Chief of EMS at the Stevens Point Fire Department, the Emergency Management Director and the EMS Oversight Board.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old or older at the time of employment
Must posses or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid Wisconsin driver’s license
No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history within the past seven years
Must be able to speak, read and write the English language
Must possess a current EMT-P or EMT-I certificate at time of employment
Ability to act effectively in emergency and stressful situations
Ability to perform strenuous or peak physical effort during emergency, training, or response situations for prolonged periods of time under conditions of extreme heat or cold
