What is the C.A.R.S. program?
The C.A.R.S. program is a service of Portage County Health and Human Services for the residents of Portage County. The purpose is to educate parents and caregivers on how to properly install and use a child’s car seat. Correct installation and use reduces the risk of injury or death in a motor vehicle accident. Child passenger safety technicians can check your child’s car seat at:

The program is available to all Portage County residents.
When can I get my child’s seat checked?
Car seats can be checked by appointment by calling 715-345-5350 option 8.
How do I enroll?
Complete and submit the referral form listed below and a Child Passenger Safety Technician will contact you or call 715-345-5350 option 8 to schedule an appointment.
What will this program cost me?
The program is free and voluntary.
