Emp Found New LogoThe Portage County Health and Human Services Employee Foundation is a charitable 501(C)3 organization which provides grants, scholarships, and financial aid for educational, cultural, and recreational programs for members of our community.

Mission Statement

The Portage County Health and Human Services Employees' Foundation Mission Statement is:

Honoring the service and dedication of its employees by providing meaningful programs and financial support to the residents of Portage County for the betterment of the community.


Each year the Foundation awards the scholarship to applicants who aspire to a career in the Health and Human Services or nursing fields, are a resident of Portage County, are attending a school or university in the county, and who demonstrate some financial need for continuing education.

The scholarships were established as memorials to Dr. Hangiandreou and Jane Shaurette. Dr. Hangiandreou was the Psychological Services Director at the Portage County Health and Human Services Department. Jane Shaurette was a public health nurse with the Department for over 20 years and served on the Employees' Foundation Board.

Applications for these scholarships must be submitted by April 2, 2020.  Mail scholarship application to PCHHS Employee Foundation, 817 Whiting Avenue, Stevens Point, WI  54481, or via email at (please indicate Employee Foundation Scholarship in the subject).  Click on the title below for the scholarship application.

Kids Day at Camp

The Portage County Health and Human Services Department Employee’s Foundation is sponsoring its 32nd Annual Kids Day at Camp at the YMCA Camp Glacier Hollow on June 12 and 13, 2020.  Activities include swimming, boating, fishing, crafts, nature adventures, field sports and games, and plenty of good food.  The camp is open to Portage County residents ages 5-12.  Children ages 5-12 are invited for the day camp on June 13, 2020.  Children ages 7-12 are invited for the overnight camp June 12 and 13, 2020.  There is not a charge for the children to attend camp.  The employees of Portage County Health and Human Services have donated their time and money to support Kids Day at Camp since 1988.  Applications are available at Portage County Health and Human Services/Ruth Gilfry Building, the Boys and Girls Club, or at the YMCA.  Applications are also available by clicking on the title below.
