The Dietary Department is under the direction of a Certified Food Service Director and a Registered Dietitian. The experienced Dietary Staff prepares three nutritious, well-balanced, home cooked meals daily. The Dietary Staff is eager to please each resident and will provide alternatives for food allergies/food preferences. Meals are served in the resident dining areas or in their rooms to meet individual needs. Appropriate between meal snacks are available throughout the day. Special theme and holiday meals are planned throughout the year. Residents' families are welcome to dine with them; guest meal tickets are available from the Business Office. The Dietary Department is a provider of meals for the "Meals on Wheels" community resource program.
The Registered Dietitian assesses the nutritional requirements, develops and implements nutritional care plans to meet the individual needs of each resident. The Registered Dietitian also promotes optimal nutritional status and well-being of the residents through medical nutritional therapy and in accordance with the Physician's orders and consistent with their individual physical, ethnic, religious and social needs. Therapeutic diets, written and maintained by the Dietitian, are served as prescribed by the Physician.
